Today virtually every phase of agriculture depends on fossil fuels in one form or another. In fact agriculture consumes more Fossil Fuel than any other industry.

The prerequisite to using any renewable energy system is CONSERVATION. Without conservation, techniques and devices for using renewable energy will always seem impractical

Generally speaking, renewable energy devices are still locked into a
costly technology that requires high energy resources like fossil fuels to provide construction materials. This is a reality and shouldn’t be hidden in the “something for nothing” attitude that renewable energy systems seem to generate.

The Human Body gets over 1,000 MPG on a bike around town, and over 300 MPG on a local walk. Longer rides and treks do worse because we have to then figure in the calories (watts/BTU/Joules) to keep your basis metabolism going!

Ben Franklins simple saying was actually quite deep, and, in fact a dollar saved is MORE than a dollar earned due to after-tax calculations.
That is, in most cases you are paying for heat, transportation, cooling and most everything else with After Tax money, so a dollars worth of fuel requires $1.25 or more of earnings

It’s not very glamorous to deal with energy conservation. Most people would rather focus on a new piece of hardware rather than on the changes and lifestyles that allow that hardware to do more with less. Car pools, lowered thermostates, efficient insulation and even adjusted lifestyes are lower cost and more sustainable ways to save.

Some Americans complain they, unlike their parents and grandparents, are unable to afford a normal sized home. They forget that a “normal” sized home for the post-WWII years was 750-950 Square feet and lacked Granite Counter Tops, Multiple Bathrooms and other luxury items

Tt’s easier and cheaper to save energy we get from all sources than it is to earn (generate) energy from newer systems. It’s MUCH cheaper and more effective to insulate a home than to switch to an EV, etc.

For generations our culture has been enjoying the benefits of a cheap,
easily available energy source . . . fossil fuels. Today, practically all of our
luxuries and necessities are totally dependent on coal, natural gas and oil.
The fact that reserves of these fossil fuels are limited has become a glaring reality for everyone.

–For a few generations of more easy energy we give to our future generations the consequences and burdens of plutonium and other nuclear wastes. We view this as
insanity.–
